Hugh F. "Mac" McCue
Hugh F. “Mac” McCue, 70, of Spaulding formerly of Elkhart, died at 4:45 am, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born May 25, 1943 in Buffalo, NY, to John F. and Kathryn E. Cox McCue, Jr. He married Florence M. Hurley and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Bridget (Jeffery) Curl of Forrest, IL; four sons, John (Noel) McCue of Lincoln, NE, Chad (Anita) McCue of Lexington, IL, Mark (Allison) McCue of Springfield and Patrick (Stacy) McCue of Williamsville; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Cheryl) McCue of Mt Pulaski and Charles (Val) McCue of Springfield; one aunt, Alice Winterbauer of Petersburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Theresa McCue in 1980 and two sisters, Margaret McCue and Marietta Romer.
Mac was a US Marine Corps Veteran serving during Vietnam. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; a Bulls fan; enjoyed hunting for deer and small game and was an avid golfer. He was a 3rd and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was a member of St. James Church in Riverton. He worked for IBEW Local 193.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at St. James Church in Riverton. A prayer service will be held at 3:45 pm Sunday.
Lie-in-State: 8:30-9:30 am, Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. James Church in Riverton.
Funeral Mass: 9:30 am, Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. James Church in Riverton with Reverend Raphael Paul DeMoreno officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted.
