Henrietta Burt

Henrietta Louise Burt, 82, of Springfield, died at 4:59 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born August 15, 1930 in Sangamon County, to Henry and Mamie Sanders Maher. She married Carl H. “Boe” Burt on September 1, 1949 and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Colleen (David) Whitmore of Riverton and Brenda (George) Wheeler of Springfield; one son, Carl (Jacie) Burt, Jr. of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Erica (Joe) Carrigan, Amanda Whitmore, Alissa (Jon) Hanson, David Whitmore, Jr., Andrew M. (Sarah) Wheeler, Jennifer R. Wheeler, McKenna Lee Burt and Chloe Louise Burt; four great grandchildren, Devon and Joey Varela and Joshawa and Wyatt Carrigan; two sisters Dorothy (Bill) Coons of Springfield and Donna Taft of Rochester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents and two sisters Lena Tweryon and Evelyn Davis preceded her in death.
Henrietta was a member of Church of the Little Flower. She graduated from Ball Township High School. In her early years she worked as a stenographer for Frank Life Insurance Company. She was a homemaker and alongside her husband she was owner/operator of Burts Greenhouse for 25 years.
Visitation: 3-6 pm Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Monday, September 17, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
