Helen I. Bucari
Helen I. Bucari, 87, of Springfield died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1921, in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Olive North Melkush. She married Anthony Bucari on May 27, 1942; he preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Bucari; a grandson, Troy Bucari; a brother, Frank Melkush; and a sister, Mary Louis Swigert.
She is survived by a son, Alan (wife, Karen) Bucari of Springfield; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She worked as a homemaker. Helen was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active with the local museum foundations, was an usher at Sangamon Auditorium, enjoyed using her metal detector to find treasures and was a member of the Genealogical Society.
Private graveside services will be held, with the
Rev. Anthony Pilli officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
