July 2, 1931 - December 16, 2021

With hope of the resurrection of our Lord, Hayat A. Shenouda, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2021, due to cardiac illness. She was born in Cairo, Egypt on July 2, 1931.

She was the much loved and cherished wife of Adli Shenouda, who survives her.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Alice, Angel and Ansaf, and two brothers, Kamal and Sobhy. She is the sister-in-law of Fathi, Nabil and Eva Sokkar.

She was a member of St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church.

In her last days, the words of comfort she offered everyone were “God is with us.” Her faith was great and she was an example to all. In dying as in her life, she prayed without ceasing. May God repose her soul in the paradise of joy.

Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
