Harold R. Scott, Sr., 73 of Springfield, died at 10:53 am, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Capital Care Center. He was born March 5, 1942 in Louisville, KY to Horace and Hettie Crain Scott. He married Sherry L. Stewart and she preceded him in death on January 12, 2013.

Also preceding Harold in death are his parents; two sisters, Loretta and Betty; one brother, Charles and two nephews, Billy Joe and Kevin.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana (George) Rowe of Springfield and Michelle (Justin) Parker of Blue Mound; one son, Harold (Valerie) Scott, Jr. of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Douglas and Isabelle Rowe, Matthew and Addison Parker, Megan Scott and Dominick and Delilah Branner; four sisters, Janetta (Linn) Scott of Pawnee, Joyce (Wayne) Williams of Moline, Rosalie (Alex) Stewart of Litchfield and Tammy Pate of Waggoner and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harold is a US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and is retired from farming. He enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

The family is hosting a memorial gathering from 10-11 am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Eastview Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow at 11 am with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Burial will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Auburn Cemetery where Harold and Sherry will be interred together. Military Honors will be conducted for Harold.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
