Gertrud S. Peterson

Gertrud S. Peterson, 81, of Springfield died at 9:20 pm Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 30, 1932 in Germany to Paul and Martha Jeron Berger. She married Russell Peterson on December 21, 1962 and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1978.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are a daughter, Karol (Kerry) Zeornes of Lebanon, MO; two sons, Roland (companion, Tammy Crabtree) Berger of Lebanon, MO and Jeff (partner, Kevin Boehmke) Peterson of Springfield; four grandchildren, Melissa (James) Boyce, Jennifer (Tony) Myers, Rusti (Josh) Weaver, and Brandy (Josh) Zeornes; twelve great grandchildren, Mikayla Boyce, Kady, Natalie, Tony, Jr., Myers, Kaleb, Brody, Brayden, Chance, Isaiah Weaver, Skyla, Neil and Rylan Sein.

Gertrud was a past member of the VFW ladies Auxiliary and American Legion. She enjoyed fishing.
Celebration of Life: The family will host a Celebration of Life at 2 pm, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Pam’s Jailhouse Tavern.

A memorial service will be held in Lebanon, MO at a later date.
