Gerald "Jerry" Ferguson
Gerald “Jerry” W. Ferguson, Jr., 57, of Springfield, passed away at 6:02 pm, Monday, December 10, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born December 16, 1954 in Springfield, to Gerald W. Ferguson, Sr. and Donna J. Smith Ferguson. He married Cynthia Gietl on April 20, 1974 and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Angie Ferguson of Bloomington; one son, Doug (Jennifer) Ferguson of Springfield; three grandsons, A.J., Maxwell and Mitchell Ferguson; mother, Donna Ferguson of Springfield; four sisters, Robin (Brian) McKibben of Springfield, Kathy (Mike) Moreland of Springfield, Linda (Tim) Hulett of Shreveport, LA and Karen Kirk of Chatham; one brother Ed (Karen) Ferguson of Bloomington and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His father; grandparents and one nephew, Sam Hulett preceded him in death.
He was a warm and loving husband, father and pa pa, who will be dearly missed.
Jerry enjoyed fishing, coaching youth baseball and basketball, and watching the Illini, Cubs and Bears. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.
He was a precinct committeeman and member of the Chatham Jaycees. He was a Capital Township Assessor; served in the Sangamon County Elections Department and was owner and operator of Angelo’s Pizza in Chatham and Springfield.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, December 14, 2012 at Calvary Temple Christian Center with Reverend Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Illinois Community Blood Center.

Cindy and Family, I am sorry to hear that Jerry has passed. I know he will be missed deeply. God bless his soul and bless you will some comfort in the times to come.
