Gerald "Jerry" W. Coonrod

Gerald W. “Jerry” Coonrod, 52, of Athens, died at 4:54 pm, Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home. He was born March 19, 1963 to Harold and Stephanie Winter Coonrod. He married Paulette Salveson in April 1994, and she survives.

Also surviving are his children Brock Coonrod of Athens, Jennifer Brownlee of Springfield, Jake (Christy) Snyder of Kilbourne, Stephanie Cordier of Springfield and Aaron Burke of Riverton; six grandchildren, Princess Jadyn, Lucas, Travi, Hunter, Bailey and Lexi; his parents, Harold and Stephanie Coonrod of Springfield; one brother, Mike (Pam Birgard) Coonrod of Springfield and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and his best friend and faithful companion his dog, Diamond.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Coonrod; one nephew, Darrin Snyder and one niece, Jordy Coonrod.

Jerry was a US Army veteran. He was employed as an Heavy Equipment Operator for Indian Point Rock Quarry and 4 K Construction.

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, October 16, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, where Military Honors will be conducted.
