Genevieve Johnson

Genevieve Johnson, 86, of Springfield, died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born July 8, 1925 in Cook County, IL to Walter and Angeline Hejna Zeman. She was married to John A. Johnson for 66 years and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Carl R. (Peggy) Johnson of Springfield and Warren (Anna Ashcraft) Johnson of Chicago; seven grandchildren, John Christopher Johnson, Joel (Meredith) Elliot, Monica (Paul Jenchowski) Innis, Aaron Johnson, Jesse Ashcraft- Johnson, Sara Ashcraft- Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson; one great grandchild, Amber Jenchowski; on niece, Margaret Balicki and one nephew, Daniel Trzyna.
She was a member of Lakeside Christian Church and was very involved with the Christian Women’s Club. She was a homemaker and a resident of Springfield since 1960.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Monday, December 26, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Jon Morrissette officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
