Gary Irving Jennings
Gary Irving Jennings, 66, of Chatham, died at 12:53 am, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born February 15, 1948 in Springfield, to Paul and Lois Thario Jennings. He married Marlene Wright on August 17, 1986 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth (John) Patterson and Andrea (Timothy) Lynch both of Springfield; two sons, Timothy (Missy) Jennings and Thomas (Linda) Jennings both of Springfield; two step-daughters, Cathy (Daniel) LaSanska of Athens and Kim (Matt) Hanner of Chatham; one step-son, Daniel (Amy) Hickman of Plattsmouth, NE; twenty grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Karen (Richard) Gibbel of Carlinville and Gloria (Dennis) Jarvis of Springfield; one brother, Steve (Marina) Jennings of Fort Myers, FL and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Danny Jennings.
Gary was a member of Real Life Church. He loved Cardinals baseball and was a coach for football and baseball. He held several offices at the local painters union. He liked to bowl and enjoyed watching the grandkids play sports.
He retired from the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture where he worked for more than thirty years as a paint shop foreman.
Visitation: 9 – 11 am, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Real Life Church.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Real Life Church with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
