Frank R. Hutmacher
Frank R. Hutmacher, 89, of Springfield, died at 8:50 am, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Heritage Health Hospice. He was born May 20, 1928 in Quincy, IL to Frank A. and Ruth Ellegsen Hutmacher. He married Georgia E. Eales on October 15, 1947 and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janet K. Hutmacher and Christine A. Hutmacher both of Springfield; one son, Jerry W. (Carla) Hutmacher of Petersburg; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and his dog, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Viola Suits Palumbo.
Frank was a United States Navy veteran, serving in WWII. He was a resident of Quincy and Springfield and worked with his father at Broadway Bakery in Quincy for years and retired as a truck driver with Henry Nelch and Son in Springfield. He formerly worked at the Soldier and Sailors Home in Quincy.
Frank was a handyman and enjoyed working on lawnmowers. He was an avid CUBS fan and a member of the Oddfellows Lodge for 45 years.
Visitation: 9:30 – 11:30 Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend Darrin Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice or Wounded Warrior Project.
