Frank Papp, 105, of Chatham, died at 10:07 am, Sunday, October 27, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born April 7, 1914 in Bridgeport CT, to Andrew and Mary Papp. He married Juanita Edgar on January 11, 1952 and she preceded him in death on December 5, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Thomas William Papp of Springfield; two grandchildren David Patrick (fiance’ Nikki Kersey) Papp and Kimberly Ann (fiancé, John Mahan) Papp and one great great granddaughter, Kennedi Michelle Leann Papp and his best friend, longtime caretaker and grand daughter-in-law, Tammy Good.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Frank was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War.
He retired as a Deputy Marshal from the Illinois Supreme Court in 1979 after 22 years of service.
Frank was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of VFW, Knight of Columbus, and Eagles.
Visitation: 5 – 7 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Graveside Service: 11 am, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Humboldt Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
