Frank L. Sargent
Frank L. Sargent, 74, of Springfield, died at 2:30 am, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.
He was born July 10, 1937, in Virden IL, to Robert and Linda Carlile. Frank married Betty M. Greenhalgh in 1970, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2009. Also preceding him in death were his son Danny Wallace, a sister Margie Neal, and three grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Debra (Dave) Danner of Springfield, Judi (Tim) Miller of Springfield, and Diane (Leo) Runkel, Jr. of Dawson, two sons; Terry D. Wallace of Springfield, and Edward L. (Pam) Sargent of Petersburg, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one sister Lu Irwin of Athens, one brother Jim (Alice) Carlile of Tallula and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank was a United States Army Veteran, a Teamster member and belonged to Real Life Church. Frank was a lube technician at Landmark Ford, retiring in 1993.
Graveside Service: 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
Celebration of Life: 1p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Real Life Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
