Francesco Porrovecchio, 88, of Springfield, IL, died on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born October 26, 1928 in Monreale, Sicily.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Madonia Porrovecchio, married December 31, 1958; children, Rose Marie (Timothy) Mansell and Angelo (Nora) Porrovecchio; grandchildren, Madeline and Nicholas Mansell and Sofia, Daniela and Analisa Porrovecchio and sister, Giuseppina Scalice.

Francesco retired from City Water Light and Power Plant after twenty five years.

Visitation: 3:00 – 4:45 pm Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church with a Funeral Mass at 5:00 pm.
Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or for Masses.

Uncle Frank was a great person. Always enjoyed his company. He was always upbeat and had a smile. I recall his many visits with Aunt Mary Ann when they would visit the Chicago area when I kid and they always stopped by our house to say hello. I will miss your company Uncle Frank. I will also miss our conversations about cars and life. May you Rest In Peace. You will always be in my thoughts & prayers.

Frank was the sweetest man, very kind and my dear husband Ben's friend. I'm sure he is being welcomed with the angels and Jesus has opened the gates of Heaven. Greatly missed by all.
