SPRINGFIELD – Florine Saputo, 84, of Springfield died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Etta Cole Rape. She married Frank Saputo in 1946.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Frank A. Coffey.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Saputo of Springfield; two daughters, Sandra K. (husband, Michael) Coffey and Kathy (husband, Bobby) Blair, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Michael (wife, Lori) Coffey Jr. and Jenna Taft, both of Springfield; three great-grandchildren, Ali, Frankie and Chloe Coffey; a sister, Doris Robson of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Florine was a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She and her husband, Frank, founded Saputo’s Restaurant in 1948. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at Christ the King Church, with Monsignor John Ossola officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Frank A. Coffey Memorial Scholarship Fund.
