Florentine L. Call
SPRINGFIELD – Florentine L. Teena Call, 75, of Springfield died at 9:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice.
She was born May 13, 1933, in Springfield, the daughter of Herb and Pauline Smith. She married Charles B. Call Sr. in 1950; he preceded her in death on May 18, 1984.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula Jean (companion, Russell Rhome) Call and Diana (Rex) Gillespie, both of Springfield; four sons, Charles B. (Brenda) Call, Jr. of Springfield, William H. (Gale) Call of Springfield, Craig (Becky) Call of Dawson and Brian A. (Shannon) Call of Springfield; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Jarrard of Springfield; a brother, John G. (Sherry) Smith of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was a receptionist at St. John’s Hospital, retiring in 1995.
She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 437 and St. John’s Retirees Club.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Eagles Club or Elks Club.
