SPRINGFIELD – Fannie McKinzie, 89, of Springfield died at 4:44 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born May 24, 1919, in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Mary Knaus Besjak. She married George William McKinzie on Oct. 24, 1940; he preceded her in death on June 18, 1994. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Thomas McKinzie; and a sister, Mary Pamer.
Mrs. McKinzie, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was a homemaker. She was a member of Real Life Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Burba and Bev (Jim) Oshesky, both of Springfield; three sons, Jake McKinzie and Robert Bob (Jean) McKinzie, both of Springfield, and George W. (Sandy) McKinzie Jr. of Lake Orion, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Besjak of Springfield and Chuck (Carole) Besjak of Loami; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until time of memorial services at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Real Life Church with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Private burial will be held in Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
