Evelyn E. Davison
SPRINGFIELD – Evelyn E. Davison, 82, of Springfield died at 10:51 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Springfield, the daughter of Gustav and Katharine Nowak Malensky. She married Evan Bryce Davison on Sept. 22, 1946.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Henry Malensky; and two sisters, Emma Brown and Gertrude Carpenter.
She is survived by her husband, Evan Bryce Davy Davison of Springfield; a son, James T. Jungle Jim Davison of Springfield; a daughter, Suellen (husband, Bob) Taylor of Decatur; five grandchildren, Dee Dee Davison of Springfield, Angie (husband, Jamie) Davies of Decatur, Janice Taylor of Springfield, Jamie Rhodes of Decatur and Ben Griffeth of Springfield; four great-grandchildren, Trevor Gandy of Springfield, Zac Davies, Brycen Rhodes and Ashlynn Davies, all of Decatur; two sisters, Marie Carpenter and Marilyn (husband, Harold) Sturm, both of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Evelyn was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Springfield.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star 152, Anchor Boat Club and Ladies Auxiliary of Anchor Boat Club.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Olson officiating.
Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
