Evelyn A. Follis
SPRINGFIELD – Evelyn A. Follis, 79, of Springfield died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at St. John’s Hospice. She joined her husband and received her eternal reward. She was born July 2, 1929, in Springfield, the daughter of Henry A. and Agnes Hofman Charles. She married Earl J. Follis on Jan. 31, 1948.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. (husband, Chuck) Buescher of Springfield; a son, Bill (wife, Darla) Follis of Auburn; five grandchildren, Laura Ann Pickens, Jeffrey A. Follis, Lisa Ann Follis Olsen, Sara J. Follis and Luke E. E. Buescher; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lee Pickens, Jacob Robert Pickens, Aiden William Follis; two sisters, Barb Sallenger of Glenarm and Rose (husband, Ron) Robertson of Springfield; a brother, Hank Charles of Pleasant Plains; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She worked as office manager for Hembrough Volkswagen and also worked for Beacon Realty and Universal Guaranty Insurance Co.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Church where she served as Eucharistic minister and was a graduate of Springfield High School.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at St. Aloysius Church, with the Rev. Robert Spriggs officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
