Ethel May Sutheard
Ethel May Sutheard, 69, of Springfield, died at 5:20 am, Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born July 26, 1941 in Virginia, Illinois to James Edgar and Beulah Frances Robinson Thomas. She married Richard Lee Robson on September 12, 1980 and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1999. She married Edward Sutheard on July 26, 2001 and he survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Betty Ann (Ron) Chaney of Springfield, Cindy Pierson, Sheila Herman and Patti (Donny) McBride all of Petersburg and Nanatte Gelsinger of Springfield; one step-daughter, Diane Sutheard of Springfield; two step-sons, Craig and Joe Sutheard both of Springfield; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Danny) Enlowe of Springfield; one nice and two nephews.
Her parents; first husband and one brother, Walter Thomas preceded her in death.
Ethel was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and worked for Children’s House at Central Baptist Church.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Monday, March 21, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with chaplain Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Ethel will be missed by many. I enjoyed working many years with her and hearing about her children and grandchildren.
