Emma Babe A. Graham
SPRINGFIELD – Emma Babe A. Graham, 93, of Springfield died at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at her daughter’s residence.
She was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Springfield, the daughter of Daniel H. and Emma Dahlkamp Stubbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Evelyn Lee Curly Graham; a son, Robert Mentor Graham; four sisters, Evelyn Stubbs, Doris Spencer, Peg Stubbs and Ethel Stubbs; and three brothers, Daniel H., Benjamin J. and Leonard Oop Stubbs.
Mrs. Graham, a lifelong resident of Springfield, was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 114th Infantry Regiment Auxiliary – Civil War Unit, queen mother of Red Hat Society Chapter Babe’s Belles and Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. She was a crafter and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also was an avid reader and enjoyed playing chicken toe dominoes and add a word scrabble. She enjoyed traveling and cruising and traveled on the Queen Elizabeth II through the Panama Canal. She also enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Surviving are a daughter, Marlene Carnduff of Springfield; a sister, Eloise Lane of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Louise Stubbs of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. with Pastor Greg Busboom. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Olson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
