Elva Louise Thompson
The incredible Elva Louise Thompson passed away January 3, 2019, with family and friends at her side.
Born and raised in Farmersville, Illinois, Elva moved to Springfield where she met and married the love of her life, Tom Thompson. Elva (“Elvie”) loved her family members and friends dearly, including her many relatives in Germany whom she visited many times and hosted in Springfield. She especially loved watching her children and grandsons play sports and participate in other activities. She was involved in many community organizations including Junior Women’s Club, Cachet Club and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Elva also enjoyed playing bridge with friends, getting together with her “Huggers” group and being a long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She and Tom enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and to several countries around the world. Elva never said no to a new adventure, party or glass of wine.
