Elsie R. Peters
Elsie R. Peters, 95, of Springfield, died at 7:45 pm, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Heritage Manor. She was born February 28, 1919 in Springfield, to Albert and Rosa Strub Bietsch. She married Louis Irvin Peters on August 29, 1940 and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2012.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Able of Springfield; one son, David (Linda, deceased) Peters of Blue Bell, PA; one granddaughter, Sadie (Erik) Thompson of Phoenix, AZ; three great grandchildren, Kennedy, Carter and Julia; one sister Rose Ramirez of Springfield; one brother Walter (Patricia) Bietsch of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Harry, Albert and Carl Bietsch and one sister Irma Horn.
Elsie was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and Catholic Daughters of America. She worked in Assembly for Brown Shoe Factory and retired from the State of Illinois where she worked in the Department of Revenue for nineteen years.
Visitation: 4-7 pm Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 9 am, Friday, March 7, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Janoski officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
