Eleanor A. Hurshman, 101, of Sherman, died at 8:53 pm Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Villa Health Care East in Sherman. She was born April 17, 1911 in Cleveland, OH to Eugene J. and Amelia Kiraly Lucas. She married Alvin H. Hurshman on Thanksgiving Day 1938 and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her four brothers and her older son, Lee F. Hurshman, MD.
Survivors include son, John H. (Penelope Leighton) Hurshman of Charleston, SC; daughter-in-law, Jane E. Hurshman of Springfield; two grandchildren, David (Cheryl) Hurshman of Maryville, IL, Eric (Gwynn) Hurshman of Scarsdale, NY; one step grandson, David Walters of Seattle, WA; two great granddaughters, Meredith and Elizabeth and one great grandson, Jonathan, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a resident of Sherman, IL since 1996, and lived formerly in Cleveland, OH. Eleanor was a member of Church of the Little Flower. She was a homemaker.
