SPRINGFIELD – D. Elaine Sprinkel, 92, formerly of Springfield, died June 29, 2008, at her home in St. Paul, Minn.
She was born April 30, 1916, in Loami, the daughter of William and Pearl Cain Winters. Upon the death of her mother in 1919, she became the foster daughter of Witt and Mae Cain Workman. She married Leonard C. Sprinkel on Jan. 2, 1936, in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1969.
Mrs. Sprinkel was primarily a homemaker, but she also worked as a bookkeeper for Allied Cab Co., which she and her family owned for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Morf; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Elaine Harmon (Tom) of Crystal Lake, Laura Ricard (Mike) of Alexandria, Va., and Paul Morf (Aimee) of St. Paul; four great-grandchildren, Arlo Harmon, Gabriel Harmon, Audrey Elaine Morf and Emily Morf; niece, Jean Stanton of Louisville, Ky.; and three nephews, Jerry Sprinkel, Carl Sprinkel and Charlie Sprinkel, all of Springfield.
Visitation will be held at Staab Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, with Reg Mills officiating. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery
