Edwin L. Fahey
Edwin L. Fahey, 91, of Springfield died at 7:50 am, Monday, December 11, 2017 at Illinois Presbyterian Home. He was born October 4, 1926 in Springfield to William H. and Stacy (Ashcraft) Fahey.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Patricia Fahey of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Jean Burnett and two brothers, William and Jerald Fahey.
Eddie spent his young life on the road and returned to Springfield in 1958. While in California in the early 1950’s, he had the opportunity to meet many Hollywood Celebrities and caddied for the PGA.
He was a cook in the Navy, on the Union Pacific Railroad, in Las Vegas, Phoenix and on a dude ranch in Colorado. After returning to Springfield Eddie worked at the St. Nicholas Hotel, the Secretary of State and finally as a health inspector for the City before retiring.
Eddie was an award winning chili cook-off cook and won competitions, including the Illinois State Fair in 1994.

Graveside Service: 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where
military honors will be conducted.
