Edward E. Keen, 85, of Springfield died at 6:20 pm on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on December 20, 1927 in Glenarm, IL to Joseph and Oma Cundiff Keen and they precede him in death. His brother, Kenneth Keen also precedes him in death. Edward married Margaret A. “Midge” Clark on April 21, 1951 and she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Kimberly Murphy, Machele Keen, and Shawn (Jerry) Duval all of Springfield; one son, Patrick (Mary) Keen of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Eli) Adams, Ryan Murphy, Dan Fainter, Rory Murphy, Kyle Duval, Kaitlyn Keen, Megan Keen and Mackenzie Boltz; four great-grandchildren, Livia, Mikah, and Danika Adams and Vaida Keen; and one sister, Ellen Williams of Springfield.
Edward was a lifelong resident in Springfield. He had worked for Allis Chalmers, retired from Terminix Pest Control and after retirement he worked for Enterprise. Edward served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947.

Visitation: 4:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St. Cabrini Church with Reverend Richard Chiola officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Cabrini Church, St. John’s Hospital, Villa Angela, or Rochester Volunteer Fire Department.
