E. Lucille Palazzolo, age 96, went home with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. She was born November 22, 1915 to Jerome and Ida Perry (Diedrich) in Edinburg, IL. She married Fred Bennett in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1955. In 1963, she married Dominic Palazzolo and he preceded her in death in 1979. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Vernon (Ruth) Perry.
Survivors include one sister, Mary “Aileen” Johnson of Wisconsin; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Palazzolo was a past Queen of Abeba Temple #42, Daughters of the Nile. She was a former member of First General Baptist Church/Real Life Church and belonged to the Forget-Me-Not group of the church.
She retired in 1977 as a Record Keeper/Clerk for Kmart in Springfield. Lucille has spent the last 3 years residing with her great niece and caregiver Jennifer (Rodney) Bystrom and great-great niece Olivia and her sister Aileen of Cushing, WI.
Her sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile will lovingly light up the Heavenly skies as they did the lives of all who knew her.
Visitation: 11 am – 1 pm Monday, October 1, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1pm Monday, October 1, 2012 with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Edinburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
