DuWayne "Spud" "Gene" Nelson Kendall
DuWayne “Spud” Gene” Nelson Kendall, 76, of Springfield, died at 2:40 pm, Thursday, December 22, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born February 16, 1935 in Lexington, Illinois to Raymond and Frances Sauter Kendall.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his first wife, Gloria Wood and a son, Danny.
He married Alyce Faye Kluge-Hibbs on November 30, 1999 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nola (Robert) Tolle and Gina (Fiance’ Dan) Kendall both of Springfield; four sons, Raymond (Partner, Rita) Kendall of Springfield, Ricky (fiancé’ Minnie) Kendall of Ashland, Randy (Betty Jean) Kendall of Loami and Ronnie (Leanne) Kendall of Riverton; two step children, Russell (Dianne) Burt of Springfield and Kenneth Burt of Clearwater, FL; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren, one brother, Larry Kendall of Conroe, TX, Two nieces and several cousins.
DuWayne was co-owner of Kendall Concrete. He was a former member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed camping.
Memorial Gathering: The family will host a memorial gathering from 3 – 8:30 pm, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at The Grandview Municipal Building.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Spud Kendall.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Gene was such a good man who was loved by everyone. Rest in Peace Gene, I think of you and Danny every day. Love Caroline and Nicholas
