Dorothy H. Oberreiter

Dorothy H. Oberreiter, 97, of Springfield died at Lewis Memorial Christian Village at 1:10 a.m., on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. She was born November 14, 1917, in Springfield, the daughter of Arthur and Josephine Saul Hanson. She married Vincent J. Oberreiter November 10, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1975.

Dorothy is survived by her five daughters, Shirley (George) Pearse of Hilton Head, S.C., Josephine Durham of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Patsy (Jim) Tisdale of Jackson, TN, Janet (Bruce) Hayward, of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Sharon (Late husband, John) Norman of Springfield; two sons, Bruce (Dotti) Oberreiter of Springfield, and Charles (Jean) Oberreiter of New Berlin; twenty four grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Charles; two sisters, June and Hazel; one daughter, Anne Green and two sons, Walter and Orville. Dorothy was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and POLK of A. She enjoyed cooking and taking cruises. She retired from Bunn-o-Matic after twelve years in assembly.

Visitation: 10-11 am, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, April 3, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
