Dorothy Ann Layer

Dorothy Ann Layer, 79, of Petersburg, died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born January 7, 1934 in Springfield the daughter of Earl and Louise Boehning Huddleston. She married Tom Layer and he preceded her in death. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Bernadine, one son Ron Wanless, three sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are three daughters, Patti Barrow of Athens, Mary Lou Wanless of Springfield and Barbara (Mike) Billingsley of Arkansas; one son George (Donna) Wanless of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Sullivan, Matt Barrow, Karen Wanless, Lindsay Barrow, Ashley Lavender and Nick, Luke and Andrew Billingsley; step-grandchild Haley Zajac five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Coons of Springfield and Theresa (Tony) Yates of New Berlin; one brother Bobby Huddleston of California as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy was a resident of Petersburg since 2007, previously residing in Arkansas for 40 years.
