Donald Roy Hudgins
Donald Roy Hudgins, Born 11 February 1925 in East St. Louis, Illinois. Parents were “Jetta” Hudgins and Mary Bernice Bolejack.
He married Eileen Josephine Holm of Gibson City, Illinois on 25 March 1951. She preceded him in death on 5 August 2007.
He is survived by his daughter Mary Christine Hudgins and her husband Richard Schachtsiek, both of Springfield. Also surviving is a nephew David Raede of Collinsville, Illinois and a niece Debbie Raede of Smyrna, Georgia.
Preceding him in death was his sister Lois Raede of Collinsville, Illinois.
Mr. Hudgins was a graduate of East St. Louis High School. Went on to get a B.S. and M.S. from University of Illinois Urbana. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII and again during the Korean Conflict. Following WWII he was a high school teacher and elementary school principal. His career was as a computer engineer for Western Electric and Bell Labs. In later years his hobbies were reading and jigsaw puzzles.
He will be interred beside his wife at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in
