Donald L. Pehlman
SPRINGFIELD – Donald L. Pehlman, 66, of Springfield died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice. He was born May 25, 1942, in Springfield, the son of Gordon and Florence Tremain Pehlman; they preceded him in death.
He is survived by three daughters, Debbie (husband, Patrick) Gilbert of Springfield, Diana (husband, Scott) Wilkin of Monticello and Dena (husband, John) Simpson of Indianapolis; a son, David (wife, Christina) Pehlman of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; a sister; two nieces; two nephews; and several cousins.
Donald lived in the Springfield area his entire life. He retired from the Pool Center, where he was part owner with his father.
He loved golfing and was a history buff. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his biggest joy and the most important thing in his life was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until time of memorial services at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Eischen officiating.
