Donald G. Siddens
Donald G. Siddens, 86, of Rochester, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born on April 27, 1931 in Eldorado, IL to James Butler and Bertha (Simmons) Siddens. He married Rhondda Herman on January 28, 1956 and she preceded him in death on October 17, 2002.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda (Mark) Staab of Springfield; one son, Randy (Gina) Siddens of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Chase, Shelby and Casey Siddens; Erin and Mark Staab II and Carson and Dalton Siddens.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Bradley Siddens; three brothers, J.B., W.C. and Leonard “Sonny” Siddens and one sister, Margaret Ann Owens.
He was a United States Army veteran. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with four bronze service stars, meritorious unit commendation with one bronze star. He was the former business agent of Ironworkers Local #46 for 21 years.
Don was a member of the Masons in Rochester, Ansar Shrine and Elks Lodge.
Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Friday, January 5, 2018 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Pastor David Upchurch officiating and where military honors will be conducted.
A luncheon will immediately follow the graveside service at the Northfield Center, 3280 Northfield Drive, Springfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children or Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis.
