Donald Alan Moore
SHERMAN – Donald Alan Moore Sr., 78, of Sherman died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
He was born April 6, 1931, in Quincy, the son of Dale and Helen Uppinghouse Moore. He married Kathy on Aug. 30, 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a manager at Illinois Bell for 34 years and served two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, TRN Club and Elks Club 158.
Donald loved traveling, working in his yard, boating and fishing. He was an avid duck collector. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy; three daughters, Donna (Ron) Lowe of Quincy, Kim (Jay) Bartlett of Sherman and Keri (Chad) LeMar of Spaulding; three sons, Donald Jr., Rodney (Debbie) and Steven (Tina) Moore, all of Quincy; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a cousin.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Services will be there at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, with the Rev. James Stuenkel officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or St. John’s Hospice.
