Dolores Jane "Dee" Holesinger
Dolores Jane “Dee” Holesinger, 92, of Montgomery, AL formerly of Springfield died at 11:00 am, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home in Alabama. She was born on August 4, 1926 in Springfield, IL to Earl Kermit and Elizabeth Ann (Robson) Haynes. She married Harold Gene Holesinger on October 4, 1957 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2016.
She is survived by one son, Donald (Diana) Davenport of Montgomery, AL; one daughter, Kimberly (Tim) Curry of Springfield; four grandchildren, Dustin (Maggie) Davenport, David (Sarah) Davenport, Daniel (Emily) Davenport all of Alabama and Christy (Travis) Grupe of Chatham, IL; six great grandchildren Asher, Sydney, Lennon, Pierce and Kennedy Davenport and Cecilia Grupe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Claude Ishmael and one brother, Earl Haynes.
Dolores was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She modeled extensively in Springfield. She worked at the Bootery and Seven to Heaven Dress shop for over 30 years. Dee and Harry belonged to the Springfield Ski & Boat Club for many years.
Dolores was an active member of the Officers Wives Auxiliary at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, Alabama and at O’Hare Airport. She loved her family and played an active role with her four grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling, boating, adventure and travel.
Visitation: 9-11 am Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home Springfield. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
