Diane Bietsch, 64, of Springfield, died at 8:21 pm, Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born November 18, 1954 in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Charles Everett and Martha Lee (Bishop) Dalby. She married Eddie Bietsch on February 10, 1973 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Laurel) Bietsch and Ryan (Kristy) Bietsch, both of Springfield; three grandchildren, Caiden, Ethan and Taylor Bietsch; two sisters, Brenda Dalby and Karen Gontarek, all of Springfield; half-brother, Paul (Angie) Kirk of Woodlawn, IL and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Diane was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed watching college basketball, was known as the “QVC Queen”. She was a member of the Riveria Club.
Diane retired from the State of Illinois Department of Corrections in 2002, after thirty years of service.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Dr. Minister Louise Fane officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
