Deborah J. "Deb" Toelle

Deborah “Deb” J. Toelle, 62, died at 4:52 pm, Friday, November 4, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born September 15, 1954 in Terre Haute, IN.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Toelle; daughter, Michelle (Andrew) Austin; son, John Toelle; mother, Evelyn M. Lauer; two brothers, Brian (Mickey) Lauer and Bruce (Donna) Lauer, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her father, Arthur F. Lauer, preceded her in death.

Deb graduated from Springfield High School in 1972. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Milliken University. She then went on to attend the Gemological Institute of America to become a certified Gemologist. She was a co-owner of Stout & Lauer Jewelers with her two brothers where she made her career as a professional Gemologist. In her early retirement, she continued doing appraisals and her artwork when she found time.

She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority and a former Board member of the Springfield Ballet Company, where she fulfilled her dreams of dancing on stage as a cast member of the Nutcracker for 10 years.
