David Morris, 80, of Springfield, IL died Sunday, December 28 at Memorial Medical Center.
Dave was born on March 31, 1934 in Medford, MA, the son of Adam and May Morris.
He married Elizabeth Randles on October 11, 1958.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Liz; grandson, David Jamison; brother, John Morris, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Jamison (husband Bob) of Springfield, daughter, Carolyn Hurst (husband Cole) of Crawfordville, FL, and son David Morris (wife Amy) of St. Charles, IL, three grandchildren, Tom Jamison of Effingham and Haley and Hunter Hurst of Crawfordville, FL, and dear friend, Joyce McDaniel of Williamsville.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Dave began a career in the printing industry. Dave and Liz raised their family in Pembroke, New Hampshire and later lived in Florida and Kansas. Upon retirement, they moved to Springfield in 1998. Dave was a member of Cherry Hills Baptist Church and enjoyed the monthly OK Club luncheons. Dave was a huge sports fan and always rooted for his New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox.
Visitation: 9-11, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Nelsen officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
