David M. "Poppy" "Dago" Pallante
David M. “Poppy” “Dago” Pallante, 79, of Springfield, died at 10:13 pm, Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1935 in Springfield, to George and Evelyn Stewart Pallante.
David was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and spending time with his family. He retired in 1996 from Mel-O-Cream where he worked as a baker.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Wallace of Springfield; one son, David (Fiancé’ Sharon Goldesberry) Pallante of Springfield; one daughter-in-law, Beth Pallante of Divernon; four grandchildren, Ashley (Brad) Blevins of Divernon, Zachary Pallante of Divernon, Danny Pallante of Annapolis, MD and Alex Wallace of Springfield; one great grandchild, Carter; one brother, George (Phyllis) Pallante of CA; one aunt, Gladys Armstrong of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant children; one son, Mark Pallante; one sister, Laura and one brother Gabe.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, May 24, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Jallas officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
