David Lyle Montgomery, 58, of Springfield, died at 7:45 pm, Saturday, June 7, 2014, at his home. He was born July 29, 1955, in Springfield, to James and Nancy Burdinsky Montgomery. He married Jan Marie Coffin on April 27, 1985, and she survives.
Also surviving are his parents, James and Nancy Montgomery of Chatham; one sister, Cindy Hill of Beardstown; two nieces, Cheryl Schempp and Diana Lovell; three aunts, two uncles and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
David was a lifetime resident of Springfield and worked as a golf course mechanic at Illini Country Club since 1987. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of Springfield Sunday Flyers. David had a passion for collecting WWII model airplanes.

Memorial Gathering: 6-7 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church.

Memorial Service: 7 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Christell officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Jan Montgomery or Grace Lutheran Church.
