David Homer Dilley
David Homer Dilley, 67, of Springfield, died at 9:02 am, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1948 in Springfield, to Dale R. and Flora H. Balzarina Dilley. He married Connie Dodds on May 27, 1995, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David S. (Sonya) of Springfield and Patrick of Sunshine, AZ; numerous grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Reverend Gary D. Dilley of Sherman, Robert L. Dilley and James D. (Cindy) Dilley both of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
David was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam War on active duty from 1967 – 1970 as an E-4 CPL Rifleman and from 1981-1988 with the Marine Corps Reserves as S/Sgt E6 Platoon Commander. He was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America.
Visitation: 11 am -1 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Dilley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Sangamon County Inter Veterans Burial Detail and the U.S. Marines Corps will conduct military honors.
