David E. Weiskopf
David E. Weiskopf, 71, of Springfield died at 9:45 am, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Heritage Health. He was born April 12, 1945 in Springfield, IL.
Surviving are one daughter, Sara Ann (Forrest) McKnight of Austin, TX; three grandchildren; one sister, Kaye E. (Bill) Brittin of Pleasant Plains; brother-in-law, Michael A. Flexsenhar of Springfield; many special nieces and nephews and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Weiskopf; mother, Virginia (Watkins) Etherton; son, Scott David Weiskopf; brother, Norman F. Weiskopf; sister, Janet Ruth Flexsenhar; former wife, Sally (Dabney) Weiskopf; sister-in-law, Louise Weiskopf; and two nieces, Morgan Marie Flexsenhar and Kelsey Lynn Stumpf.
David was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Springfield High School and the University of Tulsa. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He worked in the sales and marketing profession all of his life.
Dave never knew a stranger. He was always ready with a handshake and a smile. He would know and remember everyone by name from the janitor to the CEO.
He loved his family and family get-togethers.
Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Greg Busboom officiating.
Private burial will be held at a later date.
