David A. Gresta
David A. Gresta, 54, of Rochester, died at 4:52 p.m. on May 4, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1956 in Springfield to Angelo and Jean Refine Gresta and they preceded him in death. He married Patricia Higgason on May 2, 1987 and she survives. He is also survived by one step son: Corey Parker of Champaign, two sisters: Diane (Fred) Jarosz of New Berlin and Deborah (Jerry) Baird of Glenarm, 2 nieces: Francesca and Jenna, 2 nephews: Jamie and Jason, several cousins and his beloved dogs Sadie and Betty.
He was a member of ASPCA. He had a degree of Music Theory from Illinois State University. He played saxophone and composed music. Music was his passion.
David retired from the State of Illinois as a Public Service Administrator. He was also a bus driver for Springfield Mass Transit. He was a lifelong resident of Rochester.
Visitation: 9-11 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Rochester Cemetery.

My dad, Dan McElfresh, asked me to look up his old pal, Dave, today. He was saddened to see that Dave has passed away. He said Dave was one of the funniest people he ever knew, and shared many memories of their time growing up together in Rochester.
