SPRINGFIELD – Dale E. Fay, 61, of Springfield, died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
He was born June 26, 1946 in Springfield, IL, the son of Arthur and Nina Frances Louise Lewis Fay. He married Margie A. Gue on July 2, 1971. His parents and one brother, Gary Fay, preceded him in death.
Mr. Fay retired from the Springfield Journal-Register after 45 years as the night foreman in the mailroom. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Bull Dog Club of America, Bull Dog Club of Chicago, Bull Dog Club of St. Louis, Bull Dog Club of Illiana, Cat Fancier’s Association, and American Kennel Club. He enjoyed showing bulldogs and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors: wife, Margie Fay of Springfield; three daughters, Dorie (husband, Daryl) Meyer of Peoria, Kim (husband, Shane) Overby of Springfield, and Tina (husband, Jeff) Barton of Las Vegas, NV; three granddaughters, Katie Meyer, Bailey Barton, and Skyler Leichsenring; three sisters, Louise (husband, James) Lard of Urbana, Shirley Fay of Riverton, and his twin sister, Diana Fay of Nevada, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
