Daisy D. Hawley
SPRINGFIELD – Daisy D. Hawley, 76, of Springfield died at 10:16 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Scottville, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Senith Mozell Gaines Miller. She married Robert D. Hawley on April 11, 1953.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Bob D. Hawley; a daughter, Kelly Diane Hawley of Springfield; two sons, Robert Alan (Nancy) Hawley and Kevin Michael (Mary) Hawley, both of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew, Kyle, Caleb, Abby, Kelly Jo, Robert J., and Aaron; three great-grandchildren, Phillip, Libby and Parker; four sisters, Bessie Muhlenbruck and Shirley (Walt) Pettit, both of Medford, Ore., Frances (Emil) Pesko of Taylor Springs and Dorothy Savorgino of Springfield; a brother, Frank (Norma) Miller of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daisy was a resident of Springfield most of her life. She worked at Icy Rootbeer, Fiat-Allis and St. John’s Hospital for several years. She retired from the food and nutrition department at Sacred Heart Convent.
She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church. She also enjoyed caring for her plants, cooking, and dancing.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at Staab Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Cox officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
