CSM (Ret.) Milton R. Miner, 85, of Springfield died at 11:45 pm, Sunday, April 5, 2020 at The Arbors at Centennial Pointe. He was born on September 21, 1934 in Nortonville, IL to William C. and Margaret Leona (Farmer) Miner. He married Jeanette Hryhorysak in 1958.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three daughters, Patricia (Steve) Phillips of Auburn, Margaret (Les) Freer of Auburn and Cathy (Todd) Armstrong of Alabama; two sons, Gary (Tanya) Miner of Palmyra and John (JoLaine) Miner of Rochester; grandchildren, Nick (Shannon) Miner with 3 great grandchildren, Jennifer Duke with 3 great grandchildren, Zachary (Jenya) Miner with 1 great grandchild, Mickala (Sam) Hertz with 1 great grandchild, Paige Phillips, Bailee Phillips, Brandon (Kayla) Boston with 3 great grandchildren, Blake (Mary) Boston with 2 great grandchildren, Brooke (Jonathon) McCray with 2 great grandchildren, Bryce Freer, Amanda Miner, Sean Kisner, Katie Miner, Nathan Armstrong with 1 great grandchild and Geoffery Armstrong; one sister, Shirley Valenti of Effingham.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Steven; his parents; one brother, Donald Miner and one sister, Juanita Keister.
Milton was a member of Sugar Creek United Methodist Church; KNOTJUSTA Bass Club; Cool Cruisers Car Club and was a lifetime member of 106th Cavalry Association.

He served in the United States Army from 1950-1987. He retired from the Illinois National Guard as a civil service technician.

Services will be held at a later date, with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
