Colleen Mae Veith, 83, of Springfield, died at 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL. She was born on September 26, 1928 in Centralia, IL to the late George L. and Mae Ballard Veith. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Margare Veith and Genevieve Dorr; two brothers, Paul Veith and George Veith, Jr.; one nephew, James Veith and one great nephew Scott Veith.
Colleen is survived by three Nieces, Linda (Nolan) Winsett of Aurora, CO, Paula (Rick) Martin of Turlock, CA and Debbie (Steve) Benefiel of Paris, IL; four nephews, Mike (Judy) Veith of Edwardsville, IL, Rick (Margie) Veith of Glen Carbon, IL, Cary (Melinda) Veith of Monument, CO and Thomas Dorr of Springfield, IL.
Ms. Veith retired from the State of Illinois, Central Management Services, in 1993 after 37 years of service. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Friday, December 8, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
