Clarence Joseph “Bud” Reiser, 93, of Pleasant Plains, died at 8:20 am, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born July 21, 1920 in Island Grove Township to Anton J. and Clara Hemberger Reiser. Bud married Bonnie (Harbour) Painter on June 5, 1988 and she survives him.
Survivors also include two step-sons, Roy (Deanna) Painter and Gary Painter, both of Springfield, five step-grandchildren and five step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond and Leonard Reiser; five sisters, Anna Schuerman, Loretta Miller, Luella Riegel, Helen Buskis and Hilda Daugherty and step son, Michael Painter.
Bud was a life-long resident of the Pleasant Plains area. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a farmer and carpenter and was owner B & B Building and Remodeling, Inc.
Visitation: 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Laughery officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Home Services – Hospice.
