Christopher Scott "Chris" Oseland
Christopher Scott “Chris” Oseland, 42, died in Seattle, Washington. He was born May 21, 1969 in Springfield, Illinois to Tom and Susan James Oseland and they survive. He is also survived by three brothers: Jeffery (Mary) Oseland of Springfield, Michael (Brooke) Oseland of Portland, OR and Kyle Oseland of Springfield; maternal grandma: Eleanor James of Flint, MI; two aunts: Carol (Leo) Stork of Springfield and Pamela Brown of Flint, MI; two uncles: Rick James and Gary (Diane) James both of Flint, MI; three nephews and one niece: Quinn, Lucas, Joseph and Sarah and several cousins. Chris was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, and a “best friend” to his brothers.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Shakespere “Bus” and Florence Oseland.
Chris was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Grade School and Ursuline Academy. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the Persian Gulf and received the Southwest Asia Service Medal with a Bronze Star. After serving in the military, he attended Culinary School and followed his passion by working at several upscale restaurants in both the Seattle and Springfield areas.
He enjoyed listening to Jazz and House (cocktail tunes) music and was an accomplished music mixer and had a large collection of records and CD’s. He was known for his warm smile and great sense of humor.
Memorial Gathering: 3-6 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
